I am very pleased to be part of the Schwarze team and look forward to working with all of you as we navigate through these unprecedented economic times together. It is imperative that we continue to provide our customers with superb product quality and service, so please don’t hesitate to contact me if I can assist in any way.
At Schwarze, we have been carefully monitoring our costs and productivity to keep us financially in tune with current economic conditions. I am pleased to report to you that we are positioned to weather current conditions. While we have been aggressive in cost control, we have not reduced our R & D effort. We have introduced new control designs on our M6000 Mechanical Sweeper and RP006 Road Patcher with simplified, Can-Bus operation. This reduced complexity will, in turn, result in significant improvements in quality and reliability. We will continue to listen to your feedback to continuously improve our products.
These are certainly challenging times for our industry and customers. Many municipalities are experiencing rating downgrades and contractors are finding it difficult to secure financing. We have been working in concert with other Alamo Group companies to identify attractive Wholesale and Retail financing solutions for our various customers. I would appreciate hearing your thoughts on whether this would be helpful in securing new business.
